As stated in my previous post, I had many portfolio reviews. At the DC booth, I had the opportunity to talk to a great guy, Mark Chiarello. He’s a colorist, too and you should read his and Todd Klein’s book, “DC Comics Guide to Coloring and Lettering Comics”. Very helpful book.
He liked a specific page and wanted to see some more of those around it in sequence. Here they are. (from Image Comics, Outlaw Territory vol. 1, pages 4-7, lines by Khoi Pham, colors by me.)
The gist of the story is that these two guys are arrested and told the town history by another inmate. It was a regular old west town with a nice old guy. One night, another guy beats and kills the old guy. The town goes nuts and rips that guys apart. After that, the town seems perfectly nice. Back to the present, the two brothers are dragged out for their punishment. It has a surprise ending, so I won’t ruin it for you. 🙂
